My husband..... My problem is that I can't find anything on Edmond Courtney other than
who his wife and children are. He is my brickwall! Does anyone know anything on this man?

Thank you for your time!

comments: I have reason to believe that my grandmother may have been a child of Laura Courtenay. Her name was Elsie Workman. She was born to a Laura Workman in Hitchin in 1898. I have noted from the 1901 census that Laura Georgina Workman then lived in Stevenage with Winifred. As my grandmother was abandoned as a baby, I am having difficulty in confirming if this was indeed her mother.

On my grandmother's birth certificate is written that her mother is Laura Workman, formally Collins - do you know if she had any dealings with anyone named Collins?

Do you also know anywhere on line that I may see a picture of Laura?

Thanking you in Advance,

Polly Cook

Margaret Kilty nee Courtney (Ireland circa 1770)

comments: I have the death certificate for my great-g-g-g grandfather Barnard Kilty, date of death 1855 Wigtownshire Scotland. His parents names on this certificate are, Father: Bryon Kilty Mother: Margaret Kilty nee Courtney. Place of birth for Barnard Ireland, unfortunately no county. Barnard would have been born around 1769, as the first marriage for this son of Bryon and Margaret is 1802 in Scotland.

I'm guessing they left Ireland after 1770, but as yet no proof of this as I am still searching for the rest of their children via www.scotlandspeople.gov. A long shot I know, but if there is any proof that a Margaret Courtney married a Kilty/Kelty/ (various spellings for this name) please get in touch, this would be much appreciated.

Kind Regards
Linda K Stewart
