comments=I think a part of my original query of 16 May went missing. The question was 'Is anything known about the person listed inthe Battle Abbey Roll as Curtenay?' The Knight (Jocelin de Courtenay) is well known, but who is the lesser being further down the roll?

comments=The Roll of Battle Abbey shows two Courtenays. One is the knight Jocelin? with coat of arms. The other is similar and has no coat of arms - that of CURTENAY.

comments=I'm trying to track down a great great grandfather. He's an Irish Courtenay who was born approximately 1836. He either came into America via Philadelphia (I think 1860) or New York. He Married a Sarah Van Gorden sometime prior to 1868. Can anyone provide me a email to the Courtenay genealogy specialist. I know my grandmother talked to them several times and even visited, and I was hoping we talk.
Sincerely,
Dave Kershaw
