Julia Courtenay Campbell Julia Anna Francis Courtenay Campbell, 84, of [Lewis Mountain] Charlottesville, [Virginia] died Friday, October 17, 2008. Born in Columbia, South Carolina, on January 30, 1924, she was the daughter of the late St. John and Margaret Beattie Courtenay. Her husband, Thomas Campbell, also preceded her in death. She is survived by two sons, Everett Lee Campbell and his wife, Christina, of Las Cruces, New Mexico, and Courtenay Madison Campbell and his wife, Pamela Joy, of Columbia, South Carolina; two grand-daughters, Christina Leonard and her husband, Scott, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Francis Duncan and her husband, Levi, of Herndon [Virginia]; three great-grandchildren, Scott, John and Courtenay Leonard; two sisters, Margaret [Courtenay] Jenkins of Sarasota, Florida, and Elizabeth [Courtenay] Hamilton of Anchorage, Alaska; and a brother, St. John Courtenay [Jr.] of Huntsville, Alabama. A graveside funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 21, 2008, at St. Paul's Episcopal Churchyard in Ivy with the Reverend Miller Hunter officiating. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Charlottesville-Albemarle Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 160, Charlottesville, VA 22902. |
