comments=I would like to know if Joan Courtenay (b. about 1337), daughter of Hugh Courtenay and Margaret De Bohun, who married (about 1357) John Chiverton (b. about 1335) had any children. I have not been able to verify it, but I have found reference to a Miss Chiverton (said to be the daughter of John and Joan) who married Sir John Hallighwell. I am descended from the this Hallighwell line (Holwell in more recent times) and would like to know if indeed we are also descended from the Courtenay line.

comments=My Aunt Mary Silling's great-great-grandfather was Ephraim McCourtney.
It is noted that Ephraim came from Ireland about 1792. However there is evidence he signed for land in York township, Pennsylvania in 1789.
The signature is Ephraim M. Courtney. We are taking my 90 year old aunt to Ireland this year and want to visit areas where Courtney's lived. I can find no mention of Ephraim in any Irish records. Can you assist me in locating a refenence to Ephraim in Ireland?

I have traced my ancestors back to the above named Thomas Courtney who was born in Chittlehampton in Devon circa 1826. I know he died on the above date. I am having problems finding his records prior to 1851 census and would be interested to know if he is connected to your family society. comments=My interest is in Robert Courtney, b. Abt 1752 in England; died 16 March 1840 in Ireland. Married Anna Wilson, she was born bet 1730-1767 in Scotland and died in Ireland.
Robert Courtney allegedly was sent by the King with a company of soliders (he was a Captain) to Ireland in 1785 to protect Protestants in Ireland. He met Anna there whose brother Dr Christopher Wilson was a Doctor in the same company as Robert. They married and remained in Ireland, they had five sons and two daughters. At least 2 sons went to America and 2 sons of another son came out to Australia.
Is this Robert related to the Courtenay family?
Is there anymore information regarding this Robert either in England or Ireland?
