John Courtenay was known as John of Lisburn, County Antrim.  He was married to Mary Savage.  They had seven children.  Their last son was John also. Could have been John Francis.  I find much info about their other children, Hercules, Savage, Anne, Edward, Rowland, and Catherine, but nothing about John.

I believe this John is my ancestor, per family records in Ireland.  But can't find anything about him or his wife and children.  Believe he lived in Cloughanduff townland in Templepatrick, Antrim.

Any info on him or his family or siblings might offer a clue to him.

  1. Hi Larry,
I'm also searching John Courtenay, married to Mary Savage. Have you managed to come up with anything new?

  2. Hello,

Several of the children of John of Lisburn and Mary Savage of Ardes immigrated to the colonies. Hercules Courtenay was active in society and highly regarded. The challenges are with determining how many came to America and where and when they died, if we can find this information it is believed that it will help many branches of American Courtneys determine their direct lineages.

    Sincerely,

    Shauna E. Courtney
